Why it exists
Documents often contain useful knowledge trapped inside formats that are difficult to review in code, store in Git, or pass through a text-oriented workflow. GetMarkdown provides a direct path from common document formats to readable Markdown without requiring a local Python setup.
Two conversion paths
Free browser conversion
Runs on the user’s device for supported files. It is free, requires no account, and supports unlimited repeatable batches of up to 8 files with a 10 MB limit per file.
Advanced PDF
Uploads one PDF for managed server-side processing when tables, layout, OCR, or JSON output matter. Current packages are $5 and $15.
Who built it
GetMarkdown is an independent project built by Aark Kodur in the Pacific Northwest. Product questions, conversion feedback, and recurring-volume requests are welcome.
