Your files and authorization
You retain responsibility for the files you select. You must have the right to process them and must not use GetMarkdown to violate law, confidentiality obligations, intellectual-property rights, or another person’s privacy.
Conversion output
Document conversion is inherently lossy. Reading order, tables, images, formulas, footnotes, OCR, and visual layout can be incomplete or incorrect. Review the output against the source before publishing it, indexing it, or using it for a consequential decision.
Free converter
Free conversion is provided without a daily or lifetime conversion quota. Browser-safety limits currently allow up to 8 files per batch and 10 MB per file. Availability can still depend on the browser, device memory, network access to runtime dependencies, and format compatibility.
Accounts
Pro requires a free GetMarkdown account. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that email address secure and for activity under your account. The free browser converter does not require an account.
Pro conversion and credits
Pro converts PDFs on GetMarkdown servers and is paid with credits. One credit converts one text page, and a scanned page that needs OCR costs 2 credits. Each PDF can be up to 25 MB and 500 pages. After you upload a PDF, you see a quote with the page count, the number of scanned pages, and the total credits before anything is charged. Credits are deducted only when you start the conversion.
If a conversion fails, the credits charged for it are refunded to your balance automatically. If a finished download cannot be accessed, contact aark@getmarkdown.com with the job identifier from your account page so the issue can be investigated.
Credit packs
Credit packs are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Credits from a pack are valid for 12 months from the purchase date and expire after that.
Monthly plans and cancellation
Monthly plans renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. Each period adds the plan's credits to your account. Monthly credits reset at the start of each billing period and do not roll over. When you hold both, monthly credits are spent before pack credits.
You can cancel or change your plan at any time in the Stripe billing portal, which you can open from your account page. A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it does not renew after that.
Payments and refunds
Stripe handles checkout, payment, and billing. Prices are shown on the pricing page before checkout.
Unused credits from a credit pack can be refunded on request within 14 days of purchase. Send the request through the contact page with your account email and the purchase date. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time as described above and remain active until the end of the paid period.
Prohibited use
Do not upload malware, attempt to bypass credit, usage, or security controls, interfere with the service, automate abusive traffic, or process content when you lack authorization.
Service availability
GetMarkdown is provided on an as-available basis. Features, limits, prices, and dependencies may change. Nothing on the site guarantees that every supported file will convert successfully or that output will be suitable for a particular purpose.
